Critical Illness Cover
This benefit is designed to pay out a lump sum or income in the event of a person suffering a defined critical illness.
The major benefit of critical illness cover is that it is paid out while you’re still alive. Many people recover from certain illnesses, and even if they don’t fully recover, having a lump sum to pay off a mortgage or debts, or just to make your life a little bit more comfortable could make all the difference.
The amount of critical illness definitions can vary amongst insurers but typically includes things like ‘heart attack, stroke, cancer, multiple sclerosis, coma, parkinsons disease, alzheimers disease, kidney failure, major burns, loss of limbs, permanent disability and many others’. Typically most insurers will have between 25 and 50 different critical illness definitions.
Because of the wide cover available critical illness cover is costed higher than normal life cover. However, your age, status, cover and term will dictate how much it will cost.
Again our insurance adviser will be able to help you find the right cover within a budget you can afford.
